Looking for a design role with variety, influence, and creative challenge? Manawatū District Council is looking for a Senior Designer to help shape how Council connects with its communities.

You'll work across four distinct brands, creating everything from campaigns and digital content to major Council publications and statutory documents. One day you might be bringing a campaign to life; the next, turning complex information into a publication that's clear and engaging, or working with stakeholders across Council to solve a tricky communications challenge.

It's a varied, fast-moving role combining hands-on design with the opportunity to influence creative direction, challenge thinking and find better ways to communicate with our communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the delivery of Council's graphic and digital design function
• Support and strengthen four distinct community-focused brands
• Oversee website design, content governance, and digital channel development
• Produce high-quality design across print, web and interactive media
• Champion innovative design solutions and emerging technologies

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience in graphic, digital and web design
• Proven Adobe Creative Suite and digital design expertise
• Experience with website management, content systems and WCAG accessibility standards
• Ability to translate complex information into engaging visuals
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship-building skills
• Agile and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Strategic thinker with the confidence to drive ideas and challenge the status quo
• Local government experience would be an advantage
