Based in the South Taranaki/Taranaki region, this is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Quarry Operations Manager to join a privately owned business in growth mode.

You will oversee the day-to-day management, production and compliance of their main business hub producing over 100,000 tonnes annually with two other seasonal quarries producing 40,000 tonne collectively. Working alongside a small, passionate team of 8, you will lead quarry operations, extraction activities, maintenance planning, staff leadership, safety systems and environmental performance.

This role requires a proactive leader who understands the extractives industry, values high standards, and can build strong relationships with customers, contractors and roading/civil companies throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day quarry operations and production activities
  • Lead health & safety systems, toolbox meetings and hazard management
  • Manage quarry maintenance, plant, machinery and mobile processing equipment
  • Coordinate extraction, overburden removal and rehabilitation works
  • Recruit, train and support staff performance and development
  • Monitor production, fuel usage, sales and operational reporting
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, consent and industry regulations

Skills & Experience Required
Qualifications & Experience


  • A or B Grade Quarry Managers Certificate a must
  • Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement
  • First Aid Level 2
  • Additional HT licences advantageous
  • Minimum 8 years' quarrying or extractives industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years' leadership experience
