South Taranaki Quarries is on the lookout for a hands-on, people-focused leader to take ownership of their mobile plant and aggregate production programme. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm with no weekend requirements.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day planning, coordination and delivery of production across three sites, ensuring targets are met safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Majority of your time will be based at the Hawera site, with a work vehicle assigned for travel to the other two sites, based in Opunake and Nukumaru when required.

We're also keen to hear from candidates in the roading and pavement construction sector, particularly those with a strong understanding of aggregate grades, material specifications, and how quality impacts safety and performance on the ground.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading daily production planning and execution across multiple quarry sites
  • Driving a strong health & safety culture ensuring best practice is embedded in everything you do
  • Collaborating with your team to design and optimise production plans
  • Monitoring and reporting on production inputs, outputs and performance
  • Ensuring plant, machinery and equipment are operated and maintained to a high standard
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and output
  • Leading from the front, supporting, mentoring and motivating your team

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in either quarrying, extractives, or roading/pavement construction
  • Strong knowledge of aggregate grades, materials and their impact on safety and performance
  • A solid track record in health & safety leadership and compliance
  • Experience operating heavy machinery (loaders, diggers and/or mobile crushing/screening plants)
  • Relevant tickets (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers essential; additional certs a bonus)
  • At least 5+ years' in either road construction or extractives industry experience, including time in a leadership role
