Pacific Helmets are looking for a hands-on Plant Engineer to join their team and take ownership of maintaining, improving, and documenting their plant equipment and tooling. This role is perfect for someone who's methodical, proactive, and passionate about ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
About the role
As Pacific Helmets Plant Engineer, you'll oversee all aspects of plant machinery and tooling - from installation and preventative maintenance to troubleshooting and improvement projects. You'll work closely with the Engineering Manager and wider operations team to ensure equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and lift productivity across the site.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and managing a preventative maintenance program, ensuring all maintenance is completed on time.
- Documenting and tracking all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Creating an asset register for all plant and equipment, including service schedules, spare parts, and supplier information.
- Conducting root cause analysis on equipment failures and implementing long-term solutions.
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives for machinery and tooling.
- Coordinating and supporting engineering projects and the testing or validation of new equipment.
- Providing technical support and training to production staff when new plant equipment or processes are introduced.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in manufacturing preventative maintenance and asset management systems - having used or implemented maintenance software prior would be an advantage
- Strong manufacturing mechanical or engineering background with solid problem-solving skills
- Excellent documentation and organisation skills
- A collaborative approach and ability to work closely with production, operations, and suppliers
- A commitment to health & safety and continuous improvement
