Awatapu College is seeking a dedicated and professional Office Administrator to provide exceptional administrative support to their school community. This role requires someone who can balance multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in the office. The Office Administrator will be a key part of the team, contributing to the smooth running of the school.

The job involves working 37.5 hours per week during term time, with regular hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch break. You will be required to work one extra week at the end of Term 4 and again prior to the start of term one.

Occasionally, there might be some evening work for events like Open Night or Interview Evenings. You may also need to work extra hours or days during the school holidays to keep things running smoothly, however extra hours would be paid accordingly.

Key Tasks:

  • Delivering courteous and effective administrative support to staff, students, and visitors
  • Ensuring accurate accounts processing, payment authorisations and invoice management within timely and specified schedules
  • Maintaining a professional reception area
  • Backup the Sick Day and Daily Attendance functions when required
  • Overseeing the efficient management of supplies and providing backup for staffroom functions

  • Upholding confidentiality and ethical practices in all dealings
  • Supporting a positive, respectful team environment and taking initiative to improve service
  • Presenting a clean and professional image at all times


As this role is within the education sector, passing a Police Vetting Application is required. You will also be backup to the sick bay, therefore having a valid First Aid Certificate would be beneficial, though not essential, as successful candidates will be provided with the necessary training.
