We are seeking a switched-on Design Engineer to join Pacific Helmet's talented in-house design team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technically stimulating environment where your skills will directly contribute to the development of life-saving products.

  • Hours being Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Current Product Development: Enhance and adapt existing product lines to meet evolving requirements, delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • New Product Development: Assist with the full lifecycle of product design-from concept, mechanical and composite design, and stress analysis to prototyping and DFM (Design for Manufacture).
  • End-to-End Project Involvement: Take designs from concept through prototyping and testing to final production, ensuring performance, reliability, and alignment with our high standards.
  • Customer Support: Provide comprehensive technical support for external vendor projects, including technical drawings, quoting, production oversight, and aftersales support.
  • Manufacturing Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to enhance processes, maintain and update technical drawings, and develop SOPs and quality control measures.

About You:

  • A strong graduate in mechanical engineering or related field, ideally with 3+ years' experience in mechanical design
  • Proven mechanical design capability, with sound knowledge of materials, tolerances, and design for manufacture
  • Proficient in CAD software, with experience in PDM systems and engineering revision control
  • A natural problem-solver with strong analytical thinking
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of managing varied project workloads
  • Clear and confident in both written and verbal communication
  • A team player
