Are you a Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner looking for a change?

This 18-month fixed-term contract based at Manawatū District Council supports the Finance function while team members are seconded to an ERP implementation project. You'll deliver high-quality financial reports and advice, ensure BAU functions run smoothly, and partner with managers and the wider finance team to meet statutory and corporate planning requirements.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Preparing monthly and annual financial reports and analysis
• Assisting in the delivery of the Annual Plan, Annual Report and Long-Term Plan
• Helping manage cashflows, tax compliance (GST/FBT), and audit preparation
• Maintaining accurate data in our ERP system and helping monitor the general ledger

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Several years' experience in Management or Systems Accounting
• Able to deliver high-quality management & financial reporting, with big-picture thinking
• Skilled in analysis, problem-solving, and strategic thinking
• A collaborative and communicative approach, with the ability to translate complex financial information for different audiences
• A positive, can-do attitude with initiative to work independently as well as within a team.
