Have you got experience with building alerations and are keen to utilise your administration skills in a Housing Advisor role?

Enable New Zealand is contracted by the Ministry or Health and ACC to provide a range of Disability Services throughout New Zealand, including modifying homes for disabled people.

As one of the Housing Advisors, you will prepare design briefs for Consultants to develop building options and drawings, and liaise with Housing Assessors, Building Contractors, Building Consultants and assist with problem solving issues around building modification applications. Taking responsibility for overseeing and monitoring the performance and quality of work undertaken by Building Contractors and Consultants maturity and professional communication is essential.

Being a desk-based role, you will be proficient and agile with numerous software systems while also having experience with building alternations – maybe you are Tradie wanting to get off the tools or have practical experience with your own DIY housing projects?

What you will need to demonstrate is:

• A high level of computer literacy in a range of programmes
• Building alteration experience
• Negotiation and highly effective problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication
• Quoting and pricing experience
• Project co-ordination and audit skills
• Knowledge of housing modifications for the disabled is desirable but not essential
• Self-motivated

This position allows you to work independently, while contributing and working closely with a team of Housing Advisors. You will also have the opportunity to develop Project Management skills and identify areas for growth with Enable New Zealand.
