Akitio Beach

Akitio beach is recognised as a popular surfing beach but also offers good fishing.

Akitio beach is a beautiful pacific ocean beach on the east coast of the North Island. While it's about a two hour drive from Palmerston North, it's well worth the effort.

Akitio beach has a small permanent community and is located 85 kilometres southeast of Dannevirke.

Why not grab some Fish 'n' Chips from the local general store and takeaway shop and take in the view from the beach out to the Pacific Ocean.
